Roderic Burks, MS, MS H.Sc., MA, LMHC, LPC – Licensed Professional Counselor/ Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Integrative Mental Health Counseling and Coaching

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Mental Health Counselor in private practice, working with adults and young people through secure, convenient virtual sessions across Colorado, California, Florida, Georgia, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Texas, and Hawaii. I offer both individual and group therapy, as well as coaching, designed to meet you where you are and support meaningful, lasting change.

With over 25 years of experience, I bring a depth of clinical insight and a steady, grounded presence to the work we do together. I am committed to creating a space that is not only confidential and safe, but also engaging and thoughtfully challenging—one where you are supported in exploring patterns, deepening self-understanding, and moving toward the life you want to live.

My goal is to provide an environment where you can do more than just cope—you can grow, heal, and ultimately thrive.

An Integrative, Parts-Based Foundational Treatment Approach

field path

My approach is grounded primarily in depth-oriented therapy and parts work, integrating the principles of Gestalt Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Jungian archetypal psychology. This integrative framework allows trauma to be processed in a way that feels safe, paced, and deeply respectful of your system. Through a depth and archetypal lens, we also recognize that trauma carries layers of meaning—often expressed through recurring patterns, inner imagery, dreams, or themes such as abandonment, powerlessness, or identity. By holding both the personal and symbolic dimensions of trauma, we create space not only for healing but for deeper understanding and transformation.

Over time, this work evolves into a thoughtful and thorough exploration of your internal system as a whole—experiencing growth on the “Soul line”—alongside the practical, day-to-day life we live, or the “goal line.” As we deepen this understanding, we begin to see how each part influences your perceptions, emotional responses, relationships, and decision-making. From this perspective, life itself can be understood as a kind of curriculum—one in which you have the opportunity to learn, grow, and move toward greater integration. With this foundation in place, we work toward making choices that are no longer driven solely by old patterns or protective strategies, but instead reflect a more grounded, coherent sense of self. In this way, therapy becomes not only about symptom relief, but about realignment—supporting meaningful change across both the goal lines of your life and the deeper, guiding Soul lines that shape your overall experience.

In addition to this depth-oriented foundation, my work is informed by formal training in a range of evidence-based and experiential modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, clinical hypnosis, relational and object relations approaches, attachment-based therapy, somatic and mindfulness-based psychotherapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This diverse background reflects over 25 years of combined academic and professional experience, allowing me to meet each individual with both flexibility and depth—integrating insight, practical tools, and embodied awareness to support meaningful, lasting change.

I have had the privilege of studying with leading pioneers in the field, including Marsha Linehan, PhD, Frank Anderson, MD, Richard Schwartz, PhD, and the Internal Family Systems Institute, as well as renowned clinicians and educators such as Gabor Maté, MD, and Bessel van der Kolk, MD, among others. In addition, I continue to invest hundreds of hours in ongoing consultation with senior analysts and clinicians within both the IFS model and Jungian psychology.

I have worked with a wide variety of clients, from celebrities, professional athletes, authors, notable scholars, high-profile executives, healthcare providers, and other therapists, to teachers, students, public service professionals, veterans, and clients from all walks of life—whom I call “Sacred Souls.” It is truly an honor to be given such a gift: to be there with you as you embark on your learning line in life, in pursuit of wholeness.
